Static Shock #1

Static Shock was an....interesting read. The super hero side was full of so much techno jargon that I thought I was reading a science journal. A real turn-off. Almost to the point that it wasn't fun to read. But the personal life of Virgil Hawkins was worth the $3 bucks. DC's attempt to humanize their characters more shines through in this instance. This book has had the most humor of the new titles, next to (surprisingly) Justice League. I'm not sure if it's enough to keep me around after the initial arc, but it's got me for at least that. And let me say, it's nice to see some good ol' Scott McDaniel art again. I haven't read his stuff in years, so it's a plus to see it's even better than I remember.
